Our head coach faced the press after the game vs Enisey. Here’s what he had to say.
— Both goals were scored by our Academy products. They deserve their place in matchday squad on merit. Just like the other young boys: Ignatov, who came on as a sub, Melkadze. The latter might not have been as good today as we’d like him to. But he works hard, he was sharp in previous matches.
— What happened with Rasskazov, who was forced off with an injury? And how serious are Ze Luis’ and Bocchetti’s injuries - neither made the squad today?
— Rasskazov got a heavy knock, but I don’t think it will be a long-term problem.
Ze Luis and Bocchetti will start training with the physio tomorrow, we hope to have both ready for the game in Tula.
— Near the end the supporters expressed their dissatisfaction because the team didn’t pile men forward. How did you take it?
— I respect the supporters’ opinion. If they boo, we are not playing the way they want us to. I too want all of our 24 shots to be on target. I want our players to be in shooting positions more often, I want us to score 10 goals every game and kept clean sheets in the process. Today we only got a 2-0 win unfortunately. But we got three important points today regardless.
— Fernando played in a role unusual for him today...
— Yes, it was a new position for him, he played at ten. He probably didn’t play there since he moved from Brazil.
He came back from an injury and we needed him to deliver straight away. I’m happy with the work he’s done today. He lacked a bit of sharpness today, but he needs a few more training sessions to become more precise with his set-piece shots and deliveries.
— Didn’t Luiz Adriano drop deep from his number 9 position a little too often?
— He provided two assists today, worked hard. If we are to sum up today’s match, we took the points and didn’t concede - that’s important, because we conceded a lot lately, Dinamo game being the exception.
