We are delighted to announce that we have completed the signing of Arsenal Tula midfielder Daniil Khlusevich! The 20 year-old’s Spartak contract will come into effect on New Year’s Day 2022, and will last until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Khlusevich was born in Simferopol to a family with quite the sporting pedigree. His father is a master of track and field, and was once the champion of Ukraine in the 800 metre race.
Daniil joined Arsenal Tula in 2018, and spent most of his first two seasons playing for the club’s second team. He made 48 appearances for the side, scoring 16 goals and assisting a further 15. After being handed his senior debut in early 2020, Khlusevich established himself in the Arsenal XI, and has since played 49 games for them. He’s scored 7 and assisted 5 goals over this period; two of them came against Spartak.
The youngster also went on trial to FC Porto last year, and was recently called up to the Russian U21 national team. He’s already scored twice in six appearances at youth international level.
On the pitch, Khlusevich is able to play all over the midfield, as well as on the wings. His versatility, pace, and dexterity with the ball will make him a valuable asset to the side.
The player will join us in January, once we are back from our winter break. We are looking forward to seeing him play in red and white!
