We are pleased to announce the signing of Jamaican international striker Shamar Nicholson on a long term deal.
Nicholson, 24, joins us from Belgian club Charleroi, where he has scored 13 goals and assisted five times in 18 games this season. Hailing from the same part of Kingston as the legendary Bob Marley, Shamar began his career at local club Boys' Town. After an impressive spell at home, the forward moved to Slovenia to play for NK Domzale. Notching up 20 goals in 56 appearances, Nicholson was spotted by Charleroi, who bought him in 2019.
In Belgium, Shamar has been the very definition of consistency. His first two seasons saw him score 8 and 10 goals respectively, but those numbers are nothing compared to his form this year. Having scored two hat-tricks in the Pro League this season, Nicholson is the competition's third top scorer.
Standing 193 centimetres tall, the striker brings with him great pace, strength, and bags of technical ability that is lethal in front of goal. With 29 games and 10 goals for his home country, Nicholson also comes with international experience. He was part of Jamaica's squad at both of the last two Gold Cups.
We warmly welcome him to the club, and wish him the absolute best in Moscow!
